Description
Also when it looks like a natural landscape: Las medulas in northern Spain is a man-made environment. The romans had their northern most gold mine in the province of Lusitania. The hills are the remains of a big sandstone plateau which was washed away by systematic jets of water. Much work was done in 200 years of mining but the result was more than poor. When melted together it would be a cube of 4 to 5 inches side length. Only the use of slaves made it somewhat provitable. Copyright by Rudi Prott, Munich.
