Description
This building is known as Berlin Conference Hall. But today it is the home of the 'house of the world's cultures'. The Berliners with their sense of striking naming call it pregnant oyster.
After WW II it was paid by the US and built by Hugh Stubbins in 1957. This was a reason for John F. Kennedy to speak here during his visit in 1963. The Hall is situated in the park Tiergarten near the German Chancellery. One part of the roof collapsed in 1980 and was rebuilt in 1987.
