Description
The "schoener Brunnen" (beautiful fountain) is one of the most remarkable fountains in Germany. The original was built in the 14th century as the top of the nearby gothic church. Because there was no possibility to bring it up it was changed to a fountain. The original is now in the German National Museum. The copy which now is visible on the main market is a copy from 1912. It shows 40 colorful characters in four levels: the philosophie, the seven arts, the four evangelists, the four church fathers, the seven electors of the German emperors and the nine good heroes, Moses and seven prophets. Copyright by Rudi Prott, Munich.
